Free, and live in the UK

Lend money
to a friend.
Get paid back.

"I'll get you back next week" has nothing behind it. SharePay turns it into an agreement you both sign, with a date, a record, and reminders that do the chasing so you never have to.

Free to create and sign. No card needed. On iOS, Android and web.

What is SharePay?

SharePay is a free UK app that turns an informal loan between friends or family into a digital agreement both people sign. The lender sets the amount and the repayment date, the borrower signs by following a link, and both keep a timestamped record. SharePay then tracks the balance until it is repaid. SharePay does not lend money, hold your funds, or charge interest. It records the agreement you have already made with each other.

How it works

Three steps, then it looks after itself.

About a minute to set up. After that the reminders, the record and the paperwork are handled for you.

  1. Write it down

Set the amount, the repayment date, and who is borrowing. You can split it into instalments if paying it back in one go is not realistic.

  2. Both of you sign

Send it by email or phone. They read the agreement and sign it, or counter with terms of their own. A contract PDF lands in both inboxes.

  3. SharePay does the chasing

Reminders go out on their own as the date approaches. They mark it paid, you confirm, and the promise closes with the whole history attached.

Why it works

A spoken IOU has nothing
behind it. This does.

Most money between friends goes wrong for the same reason: nobody wrote down what was agreed, so a year later there are two honest versions of the same conversation.

Nothing binds until both sign

The borrower reads the terms and signs before anything counts. It removes "I never agreed to that" from the conversation entirely.

Every step is timestamped

Created, signed, paid, confirmed, disputed. Each action is logged with a date, so you both work from one record instead of two memories.

The app does the awkward part

Reminders are automatic and come from SharePay, not from you. Nobody has to send the "sorry to ask again" message.

More than a note in your phone.

Signed contract PDFs
Every promise produces a real agreement document, signed by both sides and emailed to both of you.
Verified identities
Optional ID verification, so you know the person signing is who they say they are before money changes hands.
Instalments
Break a repayment into scheduled parts, and track each one separately as it is paid.
Counter-proposals
The borrower can propose different terms instead of simply refusing, so the conversation stays in one place.
Messaging
Talk about a promise inside the promise, rather than losing the thread across three chat apps.
A full audit trail
Encrypted storage and a dated history of every action taken on a promise, available to both people.
Split at checkout

Nobody wants to front the whole thing.

Four friends book a weekend away. One person pays £480 and spends the next month collecting from the other three. SharePay lets a group split one order at checkout instead, each paying their own share on their own card.

It is live now for businesses. If you sell group bookings, events, or anything with a basket big enough to split, the whole order settles at once, into your own Stripe account.

£480.00

4 ways
  • Alex £120.00 Paid
  • Sam £120.00 Paid
  • Jo £120.00 Paid
  • Riya £120.00 Waiting

The whole £480 is taken the moment Riya approves, as one settlement rather than four separate payments to chase and reconcile.
